Marco,
Thanks for your response.
I don't know for sure why, but SOMETHING is keeping the sync from being handled correctly in both places. I haven't been able to pin it down. I think it may have something to do with non-standard entry format that the online can't find - I tend to do my initial entries in FTM Mac2, then sync. If the entry has been Resolved and matched to a suggested one, I think it matches OK. So I will try to use the standard format wherever possible. PS: I may submit this question to ancestry Help.
But that brings up another issue. Say I have a person born in Pittsburgh, living in a different part of Pittsburgh at a specific street address with a linked source, and buried at a cemetery in a 3rd part. And that I would like to customize and pin the locations on the maps, in both fTM and online trees, to the actual locations of each. How can I use the standard format "Pittsburgh,Allegheny,Pennsylvania,USA" and do that? I could add the street address to the second and the cemetery name to the third, then they are 3 different Places, but only the first is standard, and is the default location for Pittsburgh.
Thanks for your response.
