Old PC, old FTM to New PC and New FTM

I’ve searched the message board, and didn’t find an answer, I think due to I’ve waited so long about updating to a new computer and new version of FTM.
Need help of advice on how to go from:
Platform: M.S. Windows 98 ver.4.0
About FTM: Broderbund Family Tree Maker Deluxe Edition II ver 6.0 for Windows 95 2/8/1999
Family File Status: Size 8480 kb, Individuals 8,782, Text Records 29012
To: FTM 2012
Brand new computer, probably windows 8
