I hope some one is working on an entire new software package and that they have hired some different programming experts. FTM 2012, with sync turned off, is not doing anything that FTM 2011 didn't do, right?
The only difference is that it probably is carrying a lot more media for each tree. But they are thumbnails. Regardless, if the program is set to open, it should open; merger it should merge.
If I open an 8 gig picture folder in Windows, it opens. If my onscreen memory is drained-yes it takes a few seconds rather than one second, but it doesn't crash or take 60 seconds to open or refuse to open.
