I'm considering buying FTM 2012 since it can now synch with my Ancestry online tree, currently my master tree. I would like to move my master tree to my computer, where I can back it up. However, I read a review on Amazon telling of an experience in which a glitch in FTM 2012 wiped out the reviewer's Ancestry online tree! http://www.amazon.com/review/R3CLIOK1RAIRNY/ref=cm_cr_rdp_pe...=
Not only is this a huge risk for a large, heavily documented online tree such as mine, but the customer service response (maybe we'll get to it sometime, no promises) is alarming.
I'd like to poll listers for any tree-threatening problems they've had with FTM 2012 to get an idea of how big a risk this poses. I note the the tree erasure happened in 11/2011, presumably with an early version of FTM 2012.
I don't want to spend the money and time on the program only to have it wipe out thousands of hours of work.
Thanks
