Hi,
I spoke to UK Support and unsynced/removed all my accounts.
I could not sync from FTM 2012.
I was then contacted by email and given some advice:
'Make sure you are signed into your Ancestry account under the Username Maxarian. Go to Plan and new tree tab.
- Click on Download from Ancestry and make sure the Link to Ancestry box is ticked.
- You should now see a list of trees. You will also see a red circle with a cross. Click on this and enter your password. This will unlink the invisible trees.
Once these steps have been completed, you should be able to click on the Share button and the upload to Ancestry button should now be available.
'.
This did not make sense as there is no tree, so no red circle.
I then decided to 'think outside the box' and this is my 'solution':
1. Create a new tree (only need to enter 1 entry).
2. Merge old tree (this negotiates around the old tree thinking it's still synced).
3. Sync.
Simple, but works (at least for me).
I hope this helps anyone else in a 'similar' position.
