Why do they approach things differently?
Because they were developed as two different programs to serve different purposes
When they decided to "Synch" they didn't rewrite the software, and so when you try to synchronize you end up wihe some of the issues you are discussing
There are other anomalies(sp?)/issues, e.g., the online system treats females who have children born out of wedlock differently than the FTM 2012 version does
I am not following the integration of the two versions closely since I don't use "synch", but it appears [from what I read] they are trying to bring them more in alignment
