How does the OLD all-in-one tree connect these people?
I'll try to answer this
In the FTW system you entered one persons name, then the system [assuming everybody was in the same Island] drew a chart/"tree" that showed how that person was related/connected to all the other people in the data base.
You can envision it like a tennis net [even an old net with holes in it] where every existing loop is connected and then you pick just one loop and you can trace how that loop connects to every other existing loop.
The system was excellent except it got out of hand very quickly [dependent on the number of people in the data base
