First, you do know the Register Report is called "Genealogy Report" in FTM?
Secondly, the right hand panel contains an option for number of generations. The report will generate as many generations of "cousins" as you select number of generations.
There is a problem with the report in that it shows descendants of cousin marriages twice, if the ancestor that made them cousins is in the report.

That's simply not true. FTM will give the vital dates (birth, death and marriage) of spouses, and their parents in the opening paragraph. After that the details that are presented are up to the options you select under "items to include" - the far left button in button bar in the right panel. You can pick and choose Facts, or select All Facts, and can pick and choose types of notes you want. This is a blanket choice that covers everybody in the report, not just spouses.
There is a problem there, however, because notes and facts of a spouse who did not have children with a descendant will not print. Some of us have asked for an enhancement for this "defect". I received a response from FTM that they don't think that any other "blood" descendant would be interestd in the facts and notes of a spouse who didn't have children with a descendant. (Like that George Washington, Martha's wife wouldn't show he was President or other facts or notes about him in a descendant report that includes her as a descendant.)

My three biggest wishes for the Register Report are:
1) Have a direct line Register Report
2) No. 1 above would lead to an ancestral report by direct line, rather than by Ahnenafel number; with a separate chapter for each direct line of descent for each ancestral line. Most published ancestral books are presented in this format, rather than an Ahentafel format.
3) Provide an alphabetical Register Report for Geographical Genealogy studies. Every person in file who has children would have a sketch of their family - with some kind of mechanism to prevent duplicates (both parents are in the geographical area.).
