Wow John - Thank you very much for the very thorough and detailed response.

I have been debating FTM for awhile.

I was actually not trying a merge, but am trying to import a new Gedcom into FTM Mac 2 from the export I created in Legacy. Thus, File>Import.

All files were backed up and a 2nd copy is kept on a portable USB drive.

Thank you for the links (and the link to the proper forum). I will read over the information carefully.
