I recently upgraded to FTM 2014 with the purchase of the CD from Ancestry.com. At the same time I changed to the WIndows 7 OS since XP will not be supported much longer. I had previously used the FTM 2011 version on the XP system & never had a single issue.
I had problems from the beginning such as the software crashing, children unlinked with their parents, update failures, but my most recent is when I update my database at Rootsweb using a gedcom file. It jumbles the order of the births of children & duplicates names.
I emailed support at Rootsweb & Ancestry. Rootsweb replied the birth order is because of a bug in the software & to contact Ancestry, whom I've not heard a peep from.
Has anyone had these issues & do you know if there is a fix for the bug? Otherwise, I'm going back to FTM 2011 since is states it's compatible with Windows 7.
Apparently new is not always better.
Thanks!
