Not quite sure how to make this query to more experienced genealogists, so please forgive me if I don’t ask in the right way.
During fuller research on one of my trees I have found that some distant relatives within my tree crop up again as relatives of other members within the tree, e.g. a sister marries into the same family as previously researched members. So, using that example how can I “connect” these persons who are already in the tree but were originally researched minus the marriages?
If I enter them in again they show as separate people, but if I leave as originally shown I can’t see a way to connect them.
Or, worst of all - as has happened I now I find - I have on a couple of instances where two sets of distant relatives of families are running juxtaposed within my tree with their offspring and marriage partners/families. I only noticed when I found a wonderful family connection that came to light via a census, but then I can’t unravel the inter-connections, as above.
So, at the moment looks like I’ve either made a great error so maybe need to delete some persons and start again – or is that the way around things? Or do I need to do something entirely different?
Many thanks for your thoughts on this - and hope my queries make sense.
