Yes I am familiar with the paste-link process. My issue is that there are 1200 people in the tree, with say 5 facts each, which means 6,000 paste-links! Also, after merging, the imported facts need to be distinguished from any unsourced existing facts before making the attribution.
It seems a pity when merging a new tree that FTM does not introduce a step in the source attribution process similar to the Ancestry Merge process. This would seem a simple programming matter. I will write an Improvement Request.
Do you happen to know which GEDCOM editors and other genealogy programs may allow adding sources for import?
