Yes,

First, don't use the backup files (.ftmb); use the regular .ftm file.

Second, there are some hidden files in \User\Appdata\Roaming\FamilyTreeMaker.

Copy the folder to your new computer.

Those files control sync and are tied to the .ftm file.
