If you use a stand alone PDF writer like Cute PDF or Sourceforge's PDFcreator, you can create PDF files from 2006. I did it for years. There are many FREE PDF writers available on the internet.
I agree with the comments on FTM2012. While there are many good concepts in FTM2012 it is very poorly written. If the concepts in 2012 were maintained and the program rewritten for speed, I am sure there would be less complaints about the program. But when you do something and then wait 15 to 30 seconds to see the results it is frustrating. When you get to be our age, you don't have time to wait on a program to respond.
One of the things I liked about FTM2006 was you could pop it open check some facts and get back to your research. With FTM2012, in the time that it takes to open, I have gone beyond the point where I need the data.
Please develop at genealogical program based on a quick to open database, with well written functions where you don't have to wait for each change to be executed through out the program before you can do anything else.
