I would not use the name tag because every spelling variation for that name under the sun is reported as another "alternative" name. Thus, the Italian given name would be "buried" in the avalanche of spellings. It is not uncommon for people in my file to have 6 to 12 spelling variations.
My personal vote would be the aka. Also, it stands out in the first paragraph of a register report and in the index. An alternative name can't do that.
