Rosemary,
I just thought of something else. Based on this discussion, one would treat a Photograph of a person to a Source.
I am trying to figure out WHY, someone would want to link a Media file to a Source? How would it be used?
Also, the term that has been used here is "Source Citation". I consider those two words, TWO different things. Family Tree Maker and Ancestry.com put those two terms together many times, but I still think there is a Source of Information, and the Citation being where in the Source did you find that information.
1940 United States Federal Census is a Source (very large one)
A Book is a source.
The Census Page would have a Citation for that Page / Sheet, as would the book.
Citations are linked to a Source
Citation media linked to the Citation
The Census Page Image, would be linked to Citation, which is linked to the source.
I guess, that if you really look at a Reference Note, in Evidence Explained! or an FTM2012 Template based Reference Note, that would contain the Source information and the Citation Information.
The Source has a screen and the Citation has a different screen.
Only One User's opinion.
