I seem to keep getting multiple source citations for the FACT Marriage. At first I thought it was all through the list of events/facts but over the last couple of weeks I seem to have narrowed it down to this one fact/event.
A little background as an example. From the middle 1800s to today the majority of my mother's family were and are members of the same church. I have a detailed copy of the church records going back to the mid 1800s and use the church records as sources for names, births, christenings, marriages and deaths.....an excellent source for me to use. Over the years I have used this source a lot.
I have noticed that when I use this source for a name, birth, christening or death only ONE citation shows up for each event in the list of citations for that event.....However for the fact/event of a marriage it multiplies....not just a couple of time, but 30,40 and sometimes 50 times. That's just for one of the people in the marriage. It does the same for the other person. When I looked at my FTM source listings....there were 5319 citations using this one source.....that's unreal.....
Citations multiple for the marriage event even when I site a marriage record from a state or county. No matter what source I site for the marriage event the number of citations multiplies.
So this is telling me that there is something wrong with the marriage event/fact.
Can anyone else see if this is the problem with your tree as well and report back?
