Re: Hidden FTM 2012 Notes inside GED file

Thanks KJ
I'm familiar with the GED file and it's structure. I had tried twice to attach to a post a copy of the GED file with just the singular person in it that I was interested in. Going through it again in response to your post I discovered that the single person GED has in fact not only notes for my Grand Uncle, but also many, many more including many source notes that have nothing to do with this individual. So I'm going to make a hypothesis. In this file, might I find all the tid-bits that were disassociated with their original individual when it was ported from the earlier file format to 2010 (I think 2010 is when they changed formats). Anyway it was after this conversion that I noticed that many notes were missing from my individuals and I recreated them. I'm now under the impression that they are there, just no longer associated correctly and therefore, just sitting there bloating the file size.
Like you said, it'll take someone who actually knows how FTM works behind the scenes to really figure it out. As for now, I guess I'll mull on it for a while and then probably do nothing for fear that I break what's already working.
Thanks again.
