I've been playing with Linux Mint Nadia with Wine 1.4 and 1.5. Part of the problem is Wine does NOT (from what I have been reading) support .NET 3.5 or higher. Mono is supposed to be >NET for Linux, so I tried that, too. The farthest I got to running FTM 2010 was to the "Update Available" window that pops up (with all options greyed out except "Update now". Then it crashed and I have not been able to get that far again.
Several times throughout the installation trials, I received various error messages that I thought were from trying to run on Linux. Further investigation revealed that these error messages appeared to many on various Windows systems, indicating it is a FTM programing error and NOT a Linux problem.
If I discover anything new in the future, I will post back here, or Create a new thread, to trumpet my success. :-)
Type at you later...
