You only register once.
Note that registration is different from activating an Ancestry subscription if one came with the particular FTM retail pack you purchased.
You don't need to open as an Administrator everytime, only if you are installing a patch.
Why?
Because FTM is altering the Windows registry entries and part of Windows security is to only allow the administrator to do this. Think about a large deployment of Windows computers in a large organisation and there needs to be a change made. You would not want individual, users to do this nor do you want them adding their own programs. So only the systems "administrator" can do it. It is part of the security in Windows.
I have just written a book called "So you are totally new to FTM" details on this link
http://www.gould.com.au/So-You-Are-Totally-New-to-Family-Tre...
It should also be available as an e-book later this month. It is designed to be a small help book to the almost totaly FTM and computer novice
