I downloaded my first tree to my ftm2012. I clicked MANUAL for sync and also clicked on the citation box for media. I downloaded the tree and checked my files to see if downloaded pictures and census records. I was pretty excited to see I had close to 1,000 documents in that folder.
A week later (after working on ancestry.com) I decided to sync my tree (since I have it on manual) I figured it would only download the media I didn't have in my folder. BUT NO, it basically downloaded the 1,000 I already had and then all the new stuff I didn't.
How in the world do I change that setting. I assumed it would not repeat stuff already downloaded. Now I have a folder with almost 2500 records, 2000 of which are in duplicated form.
There has to be a setting that I can change?
IF I unchecked the "download citation media" box, what will happen?
Hope someone can help, I'm afraid to sync my tree again!!
