Yes the PNA should be fixed, however, my point is and always will be:
If you want something to be fixed, the real problem needs to be identified, a better solution needs to be developed and then presented to the software engineers. Users should not suggest fixes that are not the answer to the real problem.
Having been a software designer and developer for over 20 years for a company 100 times larger than Ancestry I can tell you that this is not an "Add these places to the PNA" solution.
This is a "rewrite the PNA to be a real name authority that takes into account the realities of places in the world. For example, Historical, Cultural, Religious, and physical location changes and "also know as", as well as, location areas (poylgons) not x/y points"
Again, this is my opinion, based on my experience and knowledge of the problem as I see it. Others may have things/ideas to add or remove. And that is OK since as a community we should understand what each of us see as "the problem" and focus on that before suggesting "less than optimal" solutions.
