I am using FTM 2012 and am trying to create Relationship Reports. I am having a few problems:
1) FTM doesn't seem to recognize or acknowledge divorces or unmarried couples. When entering each person, I go in the Relationship tab and choose either Spouse-Divorced or Partner. However, all show up either as "Husband of ..." or "Wife of ..." I have to go into each report (over 200) to correct these. The corrections are taking hours but it would understandably be upsetting to someone to see on their report that they have two spouses. I have tried calling their support people but they have no answer.
2) FTM also doesn't seem to understand what the words stepmother and stepfather mean. It should only be applied to subsequent spouses, not previous. This is something else I am spending time correcting.
3) When sorting individuals by kinship, I do not understand the order that is used i.e., immediate family, grandparents, great-grandparents, 1st cousins, 1st cousins 1x removed, 2nd cousins, etc. Spouses are "mixed in" apparently randomly. I say randomly because I have not been able to find a pattern.
Has anyone seen this before and know of a way to fix it? I am very disappointed that I spent $80 on this product. The reports feature is what sold me on it but the reports are very inaccurate.
