Since you ask, yes, I DO have severe problems with using Ancestry itself at the moment. Missing hints, "Sorry, hint system unavailable at the moment", "That page is no longer available", the dreaded "Try again later" gold panning photo, and general dreadful performance at times, with no response, blank pages or incomplete menus (due to inaccessible CSS files I expect), and so on and so on. Even this message board itself is patchy, with spurious "unread" orange markers for messages I've already read, and the "reply" icon being replaced by the "previous page" left angle bracket icon at times.
I'm no great friend of SMK but they do seem to be upfront about this situation, and explain clearly why the sync status is still orange in their latest blog update from a few days ago, which you can access easily from the "Help > Family Tree Maker Tech Support" menu option in FTM2017. It says:
"SYNC OUTAGE - Updated June 6
Interruptions in connectivity with Ancestry are continuing but at a much-reduced level. We are now testing the integrity of syncing, during which we are intentionally manually maintaining orange sync weather, even though there would be at least a few hours of green per day if we didn't. Given the scope of changes on Ancestry's side, we will need at least 2-3 days of intensive sync testing to be sure that syncing is safe. Until we complete our testing, the status will remain orange and we continue to encourage you to hold off syncing unless you have a really pressing need to do so."
I've been syncing reliably on orange throughout all of this.
