I've been cleaning up citations in a sync'd tree by duplicating the problem citation, changing both the old and new versions, unlinking and relinking as needed. The changes involved changing the citation detail as well as changing the citation text. The end result in FTM is 2 citations each linked to the proper person and facts and unlinked from the ones that now don't apply.
This is fine and works well.
When I sync up to my member tree on Ancestry the new citations are there attached to the proper people and facts.
HOWEVER, the old citations are still there on the Ancestry tree attached to the people but not to any event or fact.
I compacted the file, made a small change, sync'd again, refreshed the member tree and the 2 citations are still attached to that person.
Has anyone else noticed this?
On further reflection I'm thinking that because I changed the citation detail the sync process has lost track of the changes. It added the changed citations correctly but hasn't any way to tell the Ancestry side that the these citations were replacements, not additions or deletions.
