FTM doesn't currently provide for assigning "tags" en masse to a group of people, or a a "saved filter" as has also been recently proposed - which is almost the same thing.

You can

Click on the Filter button at the bottom of the index
Enter the person's name that you are wanting to inquire about.
Choose ancestors back 99 generations with no descendants, preferred spouses, and preferred parents.
Click ok.

Only that person's ancestors will appear in the index.
Review it for how many other Mayflower ancestors there are ( I presume you've memorized most of the ones that are your ancestors.)

To undo the filter:
1) Uncheck the box at the filter for "apply filter"
or...

Click on the filter button and click on "Exclude all"

You could also create a custom fact called "Ancestral Lines" or similar name, and enter ancestral lines' surnames in this fact for each person you might like to have a "quickie" look at their ancestors. Like:

Ancestral Lines: Smith, Jones, Johnson, Matthews, Andrews, Taylor

The problem with this is that it may be hard to review and look at once you've gone past about a half-dozen or dozen or so names.

In which case you might want to just create a Custom Fact for "Mayflower lines" and just enter that person's Mayflower lines.

Mayflower Lines: Pochahontas, Capt Smith, Bradford

Of course, another option is to run a report or chart. I would think a fan chart might work best for what your want to and will "pack' a lot of people into a small print space.
