I recommend running FTM from a different Windows User Account. This often works for people who cannot start FTM. When it does, it's an indication that one or more of the files that FTM stores in your Windows account profile have been corrupted. There are some workarounds for that, so test it out and report back here with the results.
PS. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't usually fix problems like this. You have to do a clean reinstall, meaning you have to manually delete the stuff that doesn't get deleted automatically, i.e., stuff in the registry and files in your Windows profile.
