I hope so. The original intent was to see if I was missing something, and, if not, get the documentation fixed. We seem to be in agreement about that.
You're not new to genealogy, yet even you are struggling a bit with the concept of lines. I think that makes another argument that even experienced FTM users would benefit from an alternate numbering scheme that identifies each line uniquely. I suggest again that Ancestral Lines Pairing System should be added to FTM reports *and* charts as an alternative to Ahnentafel. Check it out (link above) and decide for yourself. Maybe it's worth dropping by the enhancement request form to let them know you want the feature.
And silverfox has suggested yet another enhancement to ancestor reports that everyone should consider. I personally agree with his suggestion and hope that others will consider it and consider requesting it.
